About
Qualities and traits that I bring
into my work. All images are hand-drawn by me.
Perseverance
Born with a non-working thyroid, I was told that it would never work, and I’d be needing medication my whole life. However, by taking the right measures and persisting with them, I can proudly say it’s now functioning by itself. Our bodies can do amazing things when we provide it with the right tools.
This is an example of how, in all areas of life, I typically look to improve a situation. Then I go for it, step by step, while holding the rock-firm belief that something can be done.
Co-creation
Pioneering (see below) doesn’t equal being a loner. I like to work and create in cooperation with others. Together we achieve more. To me, it means openness, flexibility, giving and receiving honest feedback, and asking for or providing help when needed.
In my work, this translates to working not just for, or alongside of, but together with others. I listen sincerely, pay attention to what is needed in the moment and I adjust my work accordingly.
Pioneer
The way I chose to heal my thyroid, or studying an alternative medicine modality: it’s not exactly mainstream. As a result, facing judgment comes with it. This has taught me to continue my path while at the same time respect other people’s opinions.
Are you facing similar challenges, or just curious about my experiences with my thyroid? Please feel free to ask or read about them under Stories.
Intuition
By tapping into to my intuition I see quickly what a situation needs, and which choices are the right ones to make. When I was working as a medical assistance coordinator, my intuition had me asking the right questions, therewith taking the actions necessary and making customers feel heard, which translated to above-average numbers in satisfactionary reports. As a communication professional, those are the data I like diving into!
Self-realization
Self-realization plays an important role in my life. There are a lot of definitions out there. To me, it is particularly about knowing myself, speaking and living my truth, and becoming aware of natural talents that had kept themselves hidden from me for a long time.
Walking this path is a joy! Because of it, I’m able to express myself freely and creatively, using something I call gentle strength.
